Since its inception in 2004, the Multiple Myeloma Research Consortium (MMRC) - the only research model of its kind that brings together leading academic institutions to accelerate the development of new myeloma therapies to improve patient outcomes - has created remarkable opportunities in myeloma research that could not have been imagined only a few years ago. As the first consortium of its kind, the MMRC brings together thirteen leading academic institutions to conduct innovative research spanning the most promising areas of myeloma research. Committed to driving new therapies to patients as quickly as possible, MMRC research efforts are particularly focused on advancing promising novel and combination therapies out of the research lab and into early stage clinical trials. At the heart of this innovative model is the MMRC Tissue Bank, a state-of-the-art repository of high-quality patient tissue samples that is now enabling researchers to rapidly advance research efforts. With more than 2,000 bone marrow aspirates peripheral blood samples accrued under Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), the MMRC is in a unique position to conduct high-quality pre-clinical efforts to truly fast-track the development of new myeloma therapies. With several exciting research efforts now underway, and many others in the pipeline, we are certain the MMRC will exponentially hasten drug discoveries in myeloma and, ultimately, speed the development of new breakthrough treatments. ![]() Founder and Chief Executive Officer |
